In order to meet the aims of the 2030 Agenda, as expressed in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and especially the Paris Agreement, much needs to be accomplished at the institutional, national, regional and international levels. One common thread is the use and power of new technologies, particularly their diffusion and implementation under evolving institutional and regulatory settings. We develop roadmaps, tailor made to solve specific challenges, and draw on a plethora of solutions, including, but not limited to intellectual property strategies, the power of the sharing economy, and blockchain applications. The latter have the power to enable entirely new marketplaces, particularly around open source use cases. The technology allows for collective action in a seamless environment where central aggregators no longer dictate the rules or appropriate a large share of the marketplace value.
